The inaugural VIVID festival of light is on right now in Sydney. And I think it’s better than ever!
Sipping on champagne at Opera Bar, as the sun went down the darkness lit up with bursts of colour as the projections on the Sydney Opera House roof started after dark. Strolling around Circular Quay, we stopped at Customs House to watch the intricately-detailed video projections on its facade, a long-standing Vivid favourite of mine! Past the Vivid installations at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA), The Rocks and Walsh Bay, we ended up on the roof top of our hotel looking down on all the Vivid lights and across to the Harbour Bridge and North Sydney.
This is what I love about Sydney. These kind of public events that take over every inch of the City for no other purpose than the free viewing pleasure of the people in it!
A night photographer’s paradise, here’s my favourite shots of my favourite lighting installs from this year’s event.
